We recently spent 24hrs at the Fairmont Hotel as a family bonding/ luxury getaway! With a family of 4 ours lives can get so busy, that I make it a priority to schedule fun trips together! And the trips don’t need to be far way or even that long! Sometimes all you need is 24-48hrs as a little reset! An escape from your everyday life to have fun together in a new environment. Especially with children, some of our best adventures have been local getaways. I’m talking 1- hour away staycations, somewhere that is convenient and easy to drive to! It was my first time staying at the Fairmont and I immediately feel in love with the hotel! Here’s all the details from our luxury getaway and why I cant’t wait to go back.
Arriving to our luxury getaway
After an hour drive we arrived at 3pm at the Fairmont Hotel. Check-in was at 4, but I always call the hotel while enroute to see if our room can be available for early check-in. When we arrived, we valeted our car and the staff brought our luggage to our room. It was such an effortless experience checking in!
Our room at the Fairmont
We stayed in one of the Main Building Balcony Suites and we had our own private terrace. I selected this room category because of the balcony and it was even more glamorous than I expected. The stunning French doors opened to spacious balcony with a table and chairs. Walking out on our terrace, I felt like an actual queen! The view was absolutely breathing, it overlooked their rooftop garden and San Francisco Financial District skyline. The whole room was very spacious and perfect for a family of 4. There was a living room connected to our bedroom with a marble bathroom.
After settling into our room we started to get ready for the night! The kids were able to entertain themselves in the living room with the sofa couch and TV. That gave me plenty of time to touch up my hair and makeup. I especially appreciated the little vanity and mirror in our room! Finding a good mirror and lighting is always a struggle in hotels, but the Fairmont gets it!
Dining at the Fairmont
We ate dinner downstairs in the hotel’s Laurel Court Restaurant. The food and drinks were absolutely incredible. I enjoyed the seared cod that came with this delightful roasted butter nut squash puree. My husband had the grilled hanger steak with crispy potatoes and grilled broccolini. We finished with treating the girls to some ice cream and carrot cake!
What we did on our luxury getaway
After dinner we walked around the hotel, went outside to the garden, and took pictures throughout the entire adventure. There are so many beautiful details throughout the entire hotel! The interior art-decor style is so beautiful and makes every corner of the hotel picture perfect. Walking around the hotel was like taking the kids on a luxury adventure. After exploring, we went back up to our hotel room to capture the sunset! The sunset from our balcony was a pure dream! You 10/10 need this balcony when staying here! The room upgrade was well worth it!
The next morning we woke up and took our time packing up! Check-out was at 11am, so the girls and I took every last minute relaxing on the balcony. Soaking up the sunshine and just really taking in the view for one last time. We can’t wait to go back and for our next escape to the city!
